Prime Minister proposes to privatize Sri Lankan Airlines. In his statement on privatizing one of the four largest loss-making State-Owned Enterprises, Sri Lankan Airlines, has been welcomed by the Advocata Institute.

According to Advocata, Sri Lankan Airlines loses Rs. 99 million on a daily basis. As of July 2021, the Airline had incurred losses of Rs. 372 billion. The Airline depends on loans to stay afloat and privatizing would help reduce further losses.
