A seven-person committee has been formed in Sri Lanka to look at the potential of giving government workers a five-year leave of absence to work in the country’s private sector.
According to M. M. P. K. Mayadunne, secretary to the ministry of public administration and home affairs, the committee will look at the idea of enabling public sector workers to work in the private sector for five years as part of a no-pay leave.
In two weeks, the report must be sent to the government.
