Australia beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets – Sri Lanka wins the tournament

Australia beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the fifth and final ODI between Sri Lanka and Australia.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 160 runs for the loss of all wickets in 43 overs. Chamika Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis scored 75 and 26 runs respectively for Sri Lanka. Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets, Matthew Kuhnemann took 2 wickets and Glenn Maxwell took 1 wicket for Australia.

Batting first, Australia chased down the winning target in the 39th over. Dunith Wellalage took 3 wickets and Mahesh Theekshana took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.

However, despite Australia winning the match, Sri Lanka won the five-match series 3-2. The highest wicket taker of the tournament Dunith Vellalage took 9 wickets while the highest scorer of the tournament Kusal Mendis scored 249 runs.
