Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has stated that her country may provide potatoes to Sri Lanka in the event of a crisis.
The Prime Minister made these remarks during a courtesy call on Sunday from the Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Esala Ruwan Weerakoon (5).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged South Asian countries to work together to combat poverty, describing it as the region’s main enemy.
SAARC Secretary-General Esala Ruwan Weerakoon emphasized the importance of bolstering the SAARC food bank.
Despite its large population, Bangladesh, according to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, may provide potatoes to Sri Lanka during this crisis.
She stated that Bangladesh has taken steps to increase food production in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war.
