Child Rights Bill to be published


Any person under the age of 18 is considered a child according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

As a result, at its meeting on September 16, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers gave its consent for the revision of the ordinance on children and youth, including the relevant provisions, in accordance with the stated convention.

A draft bill created by the Legal Draftsman has received the approval of the Attorney General, according to a statement from the Department of Government Information.

As a result, the proposal put forth by the Minister of Legislation, Prison Activities and Constitutional Reforms to publish the draft bill in the Government Gazette and submit it to the Parliament for approval thereby, has received approval from the Cabinet of Ministers.
