According to the police, about 600 prisoners have fled from the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Kandakadu, Welikanda.
According to Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa, a fight broke out during a heated situation over a single person’s death at the Kandakadu Center.
He verified that following the altercation from the previous night, 600 prisoners had escaped.
According to SSP Thalduwa, the Army and Police have been sent in to maintain order and capture the escaped prisoners.
