Colombo, and City schools closed from 27th to 1st

Published:

From the 27th of June to the 1st of July, the Ministry of Education has decided not to open schools in the Colombo Zone and city schools in all provinces.

The decision was made in light of the difficulties in fuel distribution.

However, the Education Ministry states that schools outside of cities and rural areas will open as usual if students and teachers do not face transportation difficulties.

If the problem persists, the Ministry has directed that schools only operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The principal should give flexible timetables to teachers with transportation issues in the aforementioned schools, without penalizing their holidays.

Furthermore, any G.C.E. Ordinary Level examinations scheduled to begin after June 27th might get postponed for two weeks, according to the Ministry of Education.
