COPE and COPA have summoned 13 state institutions.

In light of the country’s current crisis situation, 13 state institutions have been summoned to appear before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) next week.

Furthermore, the COPE committee summoned the heads of three institutions, while COPA summoned the heads of ten institutions.

Prof. Charitha Herath, Chairman of COPE, stated that the Urban Development Authority has been summoned tomorrow (7), Moratuwa University on July 9th, and the Ceylon Electricity Board on Wednesday (9).

In the meantime, the COPA has summoned the Agriculture Ministry, the Import and Export Control Department, the Fisheries Ministry, the Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Ministry, the Food Commissioner’s Department, the Co-operative Development Department, Sathosa, the Consumer Affairs Authority, the National Institute of Co-operative Development, and the Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation.

COPA has summoned the relevant institutions to investigate the country’s food security situation.
