Dhammika Perera, a business magnate, is expected to enter parliament via the National List of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
Mr. Perera is also expected to take on a ministerial portfolio involving the investment sector, according to sources.
Mr. Perera is expected to fill the National List parliamentary seat vacated by former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
Earlier today, it was reported that the former minister intends to resign from his parliamentary seat.
