Elon Musk’s son wants to change gender and name because he “no longer wishes to be related.”

Published:

Elon Musk’s transgender daughter has requested that her name be changed to reflect her new gender identity because “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”

In April, she petitioned the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica for a name change as well as a new birth certificate reflecting her new gender identity.

It was recently brought to light in some online media reports.
According to court documents available online through PlainSite.org, the former Xavier Alexander Musk, who recently turned 18, the age of consent in California, has asked the court to change her gender recognition from male to female and to register her new name.

Her new name, Vivian Jenna Wilson, was redacted from the online document.
Musk has five children with writer Justine Wilson, with whom he divorced in 2008.
Musk has two children with musician Grimes, in addition to his children with Wilson.

There was no further explanation for the schism between Musk’s daughter and her billionaire father.
Musk has recently made headlines for his ongoing bid to buy Twitter for $44 billion, as well as his use of SpaceX satellite dishes to provide internet access in war-torn Ukraine.

On Monday, neither Musk’s lawyer nor the Tesla media office responded to Reuters emails requesting comment.

Musk declared his support for the Republican Party in May, about a month after the name and gender change document was filed. The Republican Party’s elected representatives support a slew of legislation that would limit transgender rights in states across the country.

Musk has spoken out about transgender people’s choice of pronouns, tweeting in 2020, “I absolutely support Trans, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
