Employees of the Agri Ministry were denied time off to distribute fertilizer.

Published:

In order to enable the effective distribution of urea fertilizer, all personnel who work for institutions that fall under the Ministry of Agriculture had their vacation time suspended as of July 6th.

Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister in charge of the matter, gave the order for the decision to be made.

Accordingly, plans have been formed to deliver the 65,000 metric tons of urea that will be arriving in the nation to the agrarian centers between July 7 and July 15, where it will then be distributed to farmers.

Employees of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agrarian Services Department, the National Fertilizer Secretariat, the Ceylon Fertilizer Company, and the Commercial Fertilizer Company will thus not be allowed to take any vacation time during this time.
