Four-day work week for Public Sector. A proposal by The Ministry of Public Administration to introduce a four-day work week for the Public Sector will be presented to the Cabinet today, 13th June 2022.
Minister Dinesh Gunawardene has stated that should the proposal be approved, it will be implemented from this week. Thereby, the Public Sector will work only on four days with Friday being a holiday hereafter.
However, this proposal will not apply to health, education, and essential services.
