Indian women retain invincibility

The Indian women’s cricket team, which has yet to lose a single T20 match in Sri Lanka, continued its record yesterday (23) by winning the first T20 by 34 runs. The Indian women’s cricket team took a 1-0 lead with the victory in the first T20 match of the three – match series played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 104 in 20 overs for the loss of 138 runs. .

Radha Yadav took two wickets for 27 runs before skipper Chamari Atapattu and vice-captain Harshita Madhavi put Sri Lanka under pressure. From then on, the grip tightened and the Indian bowlers took control of the match.

Kaveesha Dilhari scored 47 off 49 balls for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka did not record a single 6 in the innings. Only 12 fours were recorded in the entire innings, six of which were bowled by Kaveesha Dilhari.

Oshadhi Ranasinghe took the toss and elected to bat first. At the same time, the Sri Lankan team gained more confidence in the match, but Jimima Rodriguez came in the middle of the innings and led India to an unbeaten 36 runs to turn the innings around. Deepti Sharma hit four fours and Rodriguez’s six off the last ball of the innings to give Sri Lanka a 20-run lead. Deepthi Sharma scored 17 off 8 balls to keep India at bay.
