After a long hiatus, Shah Rukh Khan is set to make his comeback soon, and with projects like ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Jawan,’ and ‘Dunki’ already announced, the Badshah of Bollywood appears determined to reclaim the box office. While there is still time for Shah Rukh Khan to reclaim his box office throne, he appears to have won the OTT battle even before the release of his next with South filmmaker Atlee, as Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical OTT streaming rights to ‘Jawan’ for a hefty sum.

Various reports claim that the action drama was sold to the massive online streaming platform for Rs 120 crore. While the ‘Jawan’ teaser revealed SRK’s never-before-seen avatar, it did leave the audience on the edge of their seats. Fans have been eager to learn more about the SRK-Atlee film after SRK described it as a “different kind of movie” during a recent Instagram live session. ‘Jawan,’ billed as a mass entertainer, stars Nayanthara in the female lead role and is set to be released on June 2, 2023.

Talking about his collaboration with Atlee, SRK added, “Everybody has seen his work. He makes outstanding mass-oriented films, again, a genre I have never done. So I wanted to try my hands on it. And I think me and Atlee have good chemistry. Whatever we have done of Jawan is thrilling and exciting,” during his live interaction with fans.

In addition to ‘Jawan,’ Shah Rukh has Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathaan,’ which co-stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and is set to open in theaters on January 25, 2023. The 56-year-old actor is also collaborating with Rajkumar Hirani on a film titled ‘Dunki,’ which will be released next year (December 22).
