Jet fuel to be imported by Private Sector

Published:

Following a discussion between Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva, Airline Representatives, and Fuel Storage operators in the nation, a decision was made to allow the private sector to import jet fuel.

So far, Sri Lanka has only been able to import jet fuel through the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

Importing jet fuel into the nation had become unfeasible due to the current Dollar problem.

In the eventuality that the regulations are changed to permit the Private Sector to import jet fuel into the nation, fuel storage operators have assured the Minister of their unwavering support.
