Sri Lanka will follow the “One China Policy”-PM

The challenges that have arisen as a result of the current economic crisis have been discussed between Sri Lanka and China.

Last morning, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe spoke with China’s Deputy Ambassador, Hu Wei (21).

According to the Prime Minister’s Media Division, the Prime Minister reiterated Sri Lanka’s commitment to the “One China Policy” during the talks.

He added that Sri Lanka was looking forward to talking with China about the debt restructuring.

The Deputy Ambassador of China meanwhile asked about Sri Lanka’s food security initiatives.

The Deputy Chinese Ambassador told the Prime Minister that China would provide rice to Sri Lanka to aid with the country’s food shortage.
