The Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) and the Sri Lanka Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Rubber Products (SLAMERP) have been working closely with the Prime Minister’s Office, Finance Ministry, and Ministry of Power and Energy to help resolve current issues in the energy and transportation sectors, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
As the country faces a serious foreign exchange shortage, the country’s two largest export sectors have come forward to support the country’s needs for foreign exchange by directly surrendering export proceeds to the government to clear ships arriving with diesel, petroleum, and gas to the best of their abilities while continuing to increase exports and export proceeds.
