The amount of foreign currency a person can hold in the country is limited

The amount of foreign currency that can be held by a citizen residing in Sri Lanka has been reduced from US $ 15,000 to US $ 10,000.

The Central Bank says the amendment is aimed at attracting foreign currency in the hands of the public to the formal banking system.
