The shipment of urea destined for Sri Lanka, according to Colombo Commercial Fertilizers Ltd, will now be further delayed.
Despite another ship carrying fertilizer soon arriving in Sri Lanka, a senior official stated that the supply was scheduled to arrive on July 6.
There are 40,000 MT of urea in the fertilizer shipment going to Sri Lanka.
According to Colombo Commercial Fertilizers Ltd, the fertilizer consignment was imported through the Indian Credit Line, and three different parties would check the quality.
The National Fertilizer Secretariat highlighted that the Sri Lanka Standard Institute and many other organizations will analyze the samples after the shipment arrives and take action to disperse the stocks across the nation within a week.
