The Meteorological Department states that a slight increase in the rains is expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts from today.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in those areas and several spells of thundershowers will occur in the North Western Province, the Department said.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
The Meteorological Department kindly requests the public to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers of temporary strong winds and thunderstorms.
