The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has questioned the Health Minister’s claim that the country is receiving an adequate supply of essential medicines.
The GMOA questioned whether the received medicines were properly distributed to hospitals, despite the fact that the Minister of Health stated that there is an adequate supply of medicines in the country.
Members of the GMOA stated that even if medicines are properly received by the Ministry of Health, there is a problem with their distribution.
According to the GMOA, the National Eye Hospital currently has only one type of antibiotic available.
As a result, the GMOA stated that lists of medicine stocks that are already depleted, as well as medicines at hospitals that are on the verge of being depleted, have been compiled.
The GMOA stated that if the Health Ministry is correct in its claim that essential medicines have been received, there is a delay in their distribution.
