93 Million revenue for Department of Excise. During the first five months of this year, the Department of Excise was able to generate an astounding Rs. 93 million in revenue for the Government through fines imposed for different offenses and Excise Ordinance infractions.
This amount was collected by the agency from fines levied on 13, 405 detections that were made nationwide between January 1 and May 31 of 2022.
Statistics show that 12, 313 violations of the Excise Ordinance, the National Act on Tobacco and Alcohol (NATA), and the Poison, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance have been found, with fines of Rs. 52, 990,370 levied in response.
Additionally, 1, 092 TCR (Technical Crime Report) incidents have been found in licensed locations across the nation and fines have brought in a total of Rs. 41,572,480.
