A portion of Galle Road is washed by waves. The South West Monsoon season has begun, which has made the seas stormy. Puttalam, Colombo, Galle, Hambantota, and Pottuvil regions may see tidal waves as a result.
The Galle road has been temporarily closed in the Ambalangoda region between Usmudunawa Junction and Kumara Kanda Junction.
According to the authorities, the relevant portion of the road was closed because heavy waves were causing obstructions in the way of vehicle movement.
Usmudunawa, Aluthwala, Metiyagoda, Gonapinuwala, Kumarakanda Road and other alternate routes have been suggested by the police as alternative routes to drivers.
