The Bar Association of Sri Lanka today condemned all acts of damage to property including the burning of the private residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
In a statement, the BASL observed that this sort of conduct will affect Sri Lanka’s economy and its people. The BASL urges people not to resort to acts of violence and not to let others commit these dastardly acts.
The BASL stated that setting fire and causing damage to property will defeat the purpose of the peaceful protests.
