Candidates for President are urged by TISL to disclose all of their assets

Candidates for President are urged by TISL to disclose all of their assets. All presidential candidates have been urged by Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) to publicly disclose their assets to Sri Lankans and show a personal commitment to transparency.

The anti-corruption agency noted in a statement that Sri Lankans have made it clear that they will no longer accept crooked politicians.

The TISL emphasized that one crucial step to show the public their commitment to accountability and transparency would be a public declaration of assets.

It exhorted the candidates for President to heed the public’s appeal for honest politics and become the change the nation needs.

The TISL also pointed out that MPs are not legally compelled to disclose their assets.
