The Chief Prelates of Sri Lanka’s three main Buddhist Chapters have written a 10-point letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa expressing their displeasure with the country’s current situation.
They have demanded that the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution be enacted immediately in order to form a genuine all-party government.
They accused the President of engaging in party politics at this time and urged him to instead focus on finding appropriate solutions to the economic crisis.
The Chief Prelates also emphasized that Sri Lanka has devolved into a failed state as a result of the administration’s failure to implement a proper economic strategy.
