Circular issued by the Ministry of Education. As previously stated, schools will resume on July 25 (Monday) and until further notice, in-person instruction at schools will be limited to three days per week.
As a result, starting July 25 until further notice, only Monday, Tuesday and Thursday will be used for regular school hours.
On Wednesday and Friday, when schools are closed, pupils should be given homework assignments to complete at home or instruction should take place online.
All Provincial Education Secretaries, Provincial Education Directors, Zonal Education Directors, Divisional Deputy/Assistant Education Directors, and School Principals have been given this directive by M.N. Ranasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Education.
For the 2022 school year, they have been advised to continue the daily academic and administrative operations as usual.
The first term of the 2022 school year will be prolonged until September 7, 2022 and the durations of the second and third terms will be announced subsequently, according to the document.
