The Police Sergeant who lent his support to the people’s struggle in Maharagama Town on Saturday was arrested early this morning for possessing a sharp weapon while entering the President’s House in Colombo.
They claimed that the suspect, who was dressed in sandals and a police uniform, attempted to enter the President’s House but was stopped and searched by security forces on duty for suspicious behavior.
They recovered a sharp weapon from the sergeant’s possession and turned it over to the Fort Police.
According to police, the sergeant, who works at the Narahenpita Police Garage, is a Homagama resident.
