Damage to Turkish Cargo Plane. This morning, as it prepared to take off from the Katunayuake Airport, a Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-300 freight plane experienced an accident on the tarmac (5).

The cargo jet, carrying a supply of textiles, had arrived from Istanbul, Turkey, and was set to leave Colombo.

However, one of the cargo containers had collided with the plane’s engine due to gale-force winds at the BIA, causing a delay in the operations.
