The Sri Lanka Railway Department has taken steps to provide commuters with a direct contact number for emergencies.
They stated that commuters with questions about rail services, train schedules, or other related information can contact the department at any time by dialing 1971.
The department’s toll-free number is accessible in all three languages (Sinhala, Tamil, and English). People can obtain information regarding, among other things, train operating schedules, seat reservations, train fares, railway security services, and crossing issues.
Tomorrow (14) at 7:00 a.m., the new 24-hour emergency number will become operational.
