Disruption of train services. The Sri Lanka Railway Department reported that 22 of the planned trains for today had been canceled. According to the Department, numerous office trains are among the rail services that have been canceled.
It stated that there was a problem with railroad employees reporting for work, which led to the cancellation of the train services. It further went on to say that the country’s ongoing fuel crisis prevents the railway workers from reporting to work.
Office trains running on the major railway line from Colombo Fort to Rambukkana, Meerigama, and Veyangoda, as well as additional trains going to Chilaw, Panadura, and Wadduwa, have all been canceled.
In addition to the cancellation of the goods train to Avissawella, the reservation-only train from Colom-Fort to Batticaloa has also been canceled.
