Extended travel ban on Cabraal

Extended travel ban on Cabraal. Ajith Nivard Cabraal, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka is still subject to a travel ban.

The travel prohibition has been renewed by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court until October 26, 2022. The court had first issued a directive barring Cabraal from leaving the country in April 2022.

The former Central Bank Governor has since been subject to ongoing extensions of the travel ban.

When the travel ban was initially imposed, former Governor Keerthi Tennakooon had filed a complaint alleging Cabraal had misused public funds while serving as the Governor of the CBSL.
