Fuel allocation will prioritize public transportation. According to Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera, following today’s discussions at the ministry, it was decided to start the fuel distribution procedure while giving public transportation precedence.
According to the Ministry, it was determined during the debate to supply fuel to buses with route licenses from the closest Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depots and specified filling stations.
Additionally, it was determined to set a fuel quota for authorized and public transportation buses based on the quantity of buses operated by the transportation regulating organizations in the future.
