Fuel imports to be restricted in the next 12 months. Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera stated that restrictions on fuel imports must be put in place during the next 12 months.

The Minister explained this was caused by Sri Lanka’s currency issue.

He continued by saying that the National Fuel Pass system with QR code was implemented as a result since the daily fuel demand cannot be met.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has never provided fuel to each and every gas station on a daily basis.
