Today (18) or tomorrow (19) a ship carrying gasoline is expected to arrive in the country.
The Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara announced on Sunday (17) that payments for the relevant fuel vessels have been made.
The number of individuals who have registered for the National Fuel Pass has now surpassed 100,000, and the distribution of new fuel stocks WILL NOT begin until registration is complete.
In the meantime, the chairman of the All Ceylon Petrol Station Owners’ Association, W.S.S. Fernando, stated that beginning on July 20th, fuel will only be issued to those with a National Fuel Pass.
In the meantime, long lines were observed near gas stations in a number of regions across the country.
