The Energy Minister, Kanchana Wijesekara, has provided an update on the fuel shipment that has arrived in the country as well as future shipments that are anticipated to arrive within the next few days.
He stated that one diesel shipment has already arrived in the country today (16), and that quality and sample inspections are currently underway.
According to the minister, an additional diesel shipment is scheduled to arrive later today.
He added that a shipment of gasoline is scheduled to arrive in the country the week of July 18-19.
Kanchana Wijesekara also stated that full payment has been made for all three fuel shipments.
According to the Minister, a National Fuel Pass will be introduced today, and additional information will be provided at a press briefing scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
