A man and his pregnant wife were killed in an accident near Buttala Kuda Oya on the Moneragala-Wellawaya Road.
In Buttala-Kudaoyadi, a three-days-from-delivery pregnant woman and her husband were traveling on the road when a van struck them.
The couple and their unborn child died in an accident they were involved in.
The police also reported that the van they had struck continued to drive forward and was later discovered hidden in the Kukuranpola region.
Along with this incident, a group of local residents demanded the arrest of the suspect driver immediately.
