Increase in travel advisories issued against Sri Lanka. Recently softened travel warnings against visiting Sri Lanka are now back in place, which might further harm the country’s already troubled tourism industry.

Governments around the world are advising their citizens against traveling to Sri Lanka as the situation shows no signs of changing and popular dissent against the Government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is intensifying.

This week, the Governments of the UK and New Zealand warned their nationals once again against making any unscheduled trips to Sri Lanka.

The United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and Ireland are other countries that still retain travel warnings against Sri Lanka.
