Israel’s Arkia is contemplating starting to fly to Sri Lanka. In response to Saudi Arabia’s decision to grant Israeli airlines unrestricted access to its airspace, Arkia, the second-largest airline in Israel, is considering expanding its operations to Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Saudi Arabia’s action would enable Israeli airlines to save money on fuel and shorten flight times to destinations in Asia.
According to the Israel Ministry of Tourism, the enlarged Saudi corridor will eventually result in a 20 percent reduction in plane ticket prices.
Up until May, Israel has sent over 4,600 visitors to Sri Lanka.
