Julianne Moore will lead the jury at the Venice Film Festival.

The Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore will preside over the main competition jury at this year’s Venice Film Festival, according to a Friday announcement by festival organizers.

Moore will be joined by French director Audrey Diwan, who won the Golden Lion award for her film “Happening” at last year’s festival, Iranian actress Leila Hatami, Italian director Leonardo Di Costanzo, and Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro.

Mariano Cohn, an Argentine director and screenwriter, and Rodrigo Sorogoyen, a Spanish filmmaker, will round out the international jury that awards the festival’s major competition prizes, including the Golden Lion.

The 79th edition of the festival will run from August 31 to September 10 on the Lido island of the lagoon city.
