JVP Leader says he’s ready. The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) asserts that it is poised to quickly stabilize the nation and assist in its rapid exit from the current crisis.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the JVP, told the media today that his party is prepared to address the numerous shortages in the nation quickly.

The MP noted that although the JVP does not aim to go it alone, he is convinced that both locals and Sri Lankans living abroad will support the party in this endeavor.

He added that neither he nor current Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe could hold onto the position for a very long time.

Only the newly installed Government, according to MP Dissanayake, will be able to deal with the main problems caused by the economic crisis.

The MP claimed he was ready to take on the responsibility after being questioned about Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s statement in Parliament regarding his willingness to stand aside so that MP Dissanayake could carry out his economic plans.

But if he were to accept the challenge and put his plans into action, he claimed, the President and Prime Minister would have to step down.
