Kankasanthurai Harbour to be developed. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation, stated that Sri Lanka looks forward to the development of the Kankasanthurai Port using the US $ 40 million donated by India.
It has been planned for a long time to construct the port with Indian aid. After the war ended in May 2009, India provided financial support in this area, and work such as wreck removal was completed at that time.
