Korea to issue E-7 visas to Lankan workers

Published:

Santhush Woonjin Jeong, Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka, promised to draw the Korean government’s attention to the provision of an ‘E7 visa facility’ for Sri Lankan workers who have worked in Korea for more than ten years and returned.

E-7 visa holders may bring their spouses and children to work in the United States.

The decision was made during a meeting at the Ministry today between the Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Santhush Woonjin Jeong, and Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara.

The discussion also centered on increasing job opportunities for Sri Lankans in Korea and providing international-level technical training programs to the country’s workforce.

Accordingly, the Ambassador said that experts in the field of engineering and technology from Korea’s high-tech institutions assured that necessary steps would be taken to implement training programs for young men and women who have left school and are looking for employment.
