According to the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association, the lack of fuel has made it nearly difficult for private buses to run.
Many private buses are at Ceylon Transport Board depots to get fuel, according to the organization’s chairman, Gemunu Wijeratne.
About 500 buses have been taken out of service because there aren’t enough spare parts, according to Panduka Swarnahansa, the deputy general manager of the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
He did, however, clarify that other buses will run normally.
