Published:

Mood of the Nation Poll – June 2022. The Mood of the Nation Poll was conducted in June 2022 and is based on 1,052 Sri Lankan individuals’ responses from an island-wide, nationally representative sample. A maximum error margin of under 3 percent at a 95 percent confidence interval was guaranteed by the sample and technique. Vanguard Survey (Pvt) Ltd. served as the polling partner.

Verité Research conducted the “Mood of the Nation” poll’s second round in June in relation to the Government, the nation and the economy, it measured public support, satisfaction, and confidence.

The poll was carried out by Verité Research as a component of their syndicated survey tool. Additionally, this tool gives other organizations the chance to poll Sri Lankans’ opinions.

  1. To the question, ‘ Do you approve or disapprove of the way the current Government is working? 3% of people indicated their approval. This rating stood at 10% in January 2022.
  • 2. To the question, ‘ In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in Sri Lanka? Only 2% of people claimed to be content. In January 2022, this rating was at 6 percent.
  • To calculate an economic confidence score, multiple choice questions about the state and future direction of the economy are employed. The score might be between negative (-) 100 and positive (+) 100. A score above zero indicates that more individuals have a favorable than an unfavorable opinion of the economy. The score will be (+) 10 if everyone believes that the economy is either in great or decent condition and that it is also improving. The score will be a (-) 100 if everyone believes that the economy is in poor shape and that it is only getting worse. Nobody gave the economy a perfect rating. 1.8 percent thought it was good, and 1.3 percent thought it was improving. The final result was a (-) 96. January 2022 saw a (-) 83 for this grade.
