More Sri Lankan cricketers test positive for Covid-19. Dhananjaya de Silva, Asitha Fernando and Jeffrey Vandersay, three Sri Lankan cricketers, will not play in the second Test against Australia after testing positive for Covid-19, according to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Five Sri Lankan national team players have now tested positive for the virus in total.
Previously, the first Test’s outstanding all-arounder Angelo Mathews tested positive late on Day 2.
Praveen Jayawickrama tested positive for Covid-19 on July 4 as well, and he was promptly placed in seclusion for five days.
