Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s office denied reports that he had been hospitalized after suffering from a sudden illness yesterday, saying he was carrying out his daily duties.

“He is in good health and is going about his daily work,” Cassilingam said.
Rumors circulated last morning that the former President had undergone emergency surgery and was being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Colombo.
Several such rumors about Rajapaksa’s health have circulated in recent months, all of which have proven to be false.
