According to the National Transport Medical Institute, every Friday and Saturday service will cease as of today (1) and tomorrow (2).
The NTMI stated in a statement that the choice was made as a result of the national crisis.
Additionally, the National Transport Medical Institute advised the general public that they may schedule an appointment for any day, excluding Friday and Saturday, by dialing 225 from any mobile number and 1225 from any fixed phone number.
Until further notice, the Western Province will only be able to issue revenue licenses for three days per registered car starting on Monday.
The service will therefore only be accessible on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
According to J.M.C. Jayanthi Wijetunga, chief secretary of the Western Province, these actions were taken as a result of the present gasoline shortage.
Additionally, it has been determined not to charge any fees for Western Province vehicle revenue licenses that expire on June 29.
The Western Province’s Chief Secretary further mentioned that Western Province-registered automobiles can use the internet system to apply for vehicle revenue licenses.
