According to the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the one-day passport service will begin in three more districts on Monday.
As a result, the one-day service will be launched in the districts of Vavuniya, Matara, and Kandy.
Currently, the one-day service is only available at the Immigration Department’s head office in Colombo.
According to Immigration Controller General Sarath Rupasiri, one-day passport services will be available from Vavuniya, Matara, and Kandy district offices beginning next Monday (04), subject to prior appointments.
He stated that 3,000 people arrive in Colombo every day to obtain passports through the one-day service.
