Published:

Important “Gota Go Home” campaigners Lahiru Weerasekera, Ven. Rathkarawwe Jinaratne thero, and YouTuber Rathindu Senaratne alias Ratta have all been granted bail and have been allowed to leave the country.

Due to the reported violence at a protest in Colombo on June 9th, they were detained and placed on detention.

They were wanted for illegally congregating in front of the Colombo police headquarters, damaging public property, and interfering with police officers’ performance of their responsibilities during the demonstration.

They turned themselves in to the Maradana Police and were then taken into custody. The Fort Magistrate’s Court remanded them in custody until today.

They were today, however, freed on personal bail by the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
